MICHAEL VAUGHN
Raised in Indiana, Michael obtained a B.A. from Indiana University in 1995, where he majored in Political Science and Native American Studies. He earned his law degree from the University of Tulsa in 1998. After graduating from the University of Tulsa, Michael served our country for eight years as an Air Force attorney (JAG) in Wyoming, Colorado, and Texas. There he defended and prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases, both as a JAG and a Special Assistant United States Attorney.
Michael is licensed to practice law in Colorado and in all military courts. The majority of his practice is focused on criminal, family, bankruptcy, and civil litigation. Michael received several awards and medals in the Military including the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal. He has been the President of the Delta Bar Association for the last 3 years. Michael is on the board of Young Life and Great Beginnings Preschool. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association (CBA), Delta Christian Church, Delta Rotary Club, Colorado Plateau Mountain Biker’s Association (COPMOBA), and Delta Area Mountain Biker’s Association.
In 2005, Michael and his wife, Danielle, moved back to Colorado. They settled in Delta to raise their only child, Meadow. Michael enjoys skiing, mountain and road biking, mountaineering, rock climbing, and many other outdoor activities.
Michael joined the firm in 2009 and has been practicing law since 1998.
Recently, Michael successfully achieved a pardon for his client from the Governor
of Colorado, Bill Ritter.
